Help with Rembrandt Editor
A short page. The tool isn’t complicated and the things worth knowing
are short.
What Rembrandt Editor does
Rembrandt reviews writing for usability by readers operating at reduced
capacity, for example, distressed, exhausted, scared, distracted, grieving, in pain
or otherwise not at full cognitive resource. It applies regulatory
lenses from the UK (FCA Consumer Duty, ISO 22458, WCAG 2.2, GDS), the
EU (European Accessibility Act, EN 301 549), and the US (Plain Writing
Act, Section 508, ADA), and flags places where the writing is likely
to fail those readers.
What Rembrandt Editor doesn't do
It doesn't tell you whether you're compliant. Compliance is a judgement
made by a qualified person reading the full regulation in context.
Rembrandt Editor flags plausible concerns. What you do about them is your call.
It doesn't rewrite your content for you. Suggestions are starting
points, not finished copy.
It doesn't replace research with the people you're actually writing for.
It doesn't see what your audience sees. It sees the words. Layout,
imagery, journey context and everything else around the words still
matter. Rembrandt has no view on any of it.
How to read the results
Each flag is a "look here" prompt, not a verdict. The tool's job is to surface places worth reviewing. Yours is to decide whether the concern applies, how to fix it or whether the flag is wrong for your context. Sometimes it will be. That's normal. Flag it back if you want to help the tool get better.
Languages
Rembrandt analyses English-language text only. The regulatory
references and the patterns it looks for are English. Submitting text in Dutch, Spanish, German or any other language will produce
unreliable results, sometimes confidently wrong ones.
This page, and the rest of the site, is available in English only.
When something's broke
Email support@rembrandtapp.com. Include what you were trying to do,
what happened, and the input that triggered it if you can share it. Screenshots help.
There's no 24/7 support team. There's one person reading the messages
and replying when they can.
Accessibility
Rembrandt aims at WCAG 2.2 AA. If you've hit something that doesn't work with your assistive technology, please write in. Those reports get read first. The full accessibility statement is here.
